Submission guidelines
Everything you need to know before submitting. Please read them in full: the organisers reserve the right to reject abstracts that do not follow the required format.
This translation has not yet been reviewed by a native speaker. In case of discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
Provisional. These guidelines reproduce those of previous editions and are pending approval by the Scientific Committee for 2027. Exact deadlines will be published in the first circular.
What you can submit
We accept research, innovation and professional practice work related to basketball. Submissions may be presented as an oral communication or as a poster. The final format is decided by the Scientific Committee Office, which may assign one other than the one requested.
Abstracts may be written in Spanish, Portuguese or English.
How many submissions per author
Each person may submit a maximum of two works. The platform checks this when authors are added and will not allow it to be exceeded.
All listed authors must be registered for the congress for an accepted submission to be presented and published. The platform does not verify payment: it is declared on submission and the congress office checks it against the registration list.
Abstract format
The abstract fits on one A4 page (210 × 297 mm) in two columns of justified text, with 15 mm left and right margins, 20 mm top and bottom, in Times New Roman 10 pt.
The title is in bold; authors and affiliations are centred at the top of the page. Use numeric superscripts to distinguish institutions, and include the email address of at least one author.
Required sections
- Introduction
- Method
- Results and discussion, together or separate
- Conclusions, answering the objectives set out in the introduction
For professional practice and theoretical reviews these sections may be adapted. Acknowledgements are optional.
Figures, tables and references
Figures and tables are embedded in the document and referenced in the text. Captions go below each figure and above each table. Tables span both columns where needed and are placed at the end.
References follow the author-date format of the APA style.
Declaration of originality
On submitting, the authors declare that the work has not been published and is not under consideration for publication in another journal or congress, that they take responsibility for its content, and that they have contributed to its conception, design and execution, to the analysis and interpretation of the data, and to the writing of the text.
Review and publication
All submissions are reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Accepted abstracts are published in the congress book of abstracts, with an ISBN.
Depending on their scientific quality, submissions may be forwarded to one of the partner journals. You may state a preference when submitting, but the Scientific Committee will recommend the journal that best fits the content.
